Gift Registry
Using Gift Registry The product pages in our store include a button labeled Add to Registry . Clicking this button will open the Wishpot login box . If customers have a wishpot.com account, they can login from this popup window. If they do not yet have an account, they can create one by following the prompts within a matter of minutes . If the customer is already logged into their wishpot.com account, they will automatically see the product info box . The wishpot will attempt to pull up the first image on the page, which in many cases will in fact be the product's image, however the customer may need to choose an alternate image as Wishpot may find a template image first. To choose an alternate image, click on the See more pictures link, And then choose the image you want to save for the product in your registry . The customer will need to enter in any information they wish including a title for the product and what registry or wish list they wish to save the item to . They also have the ability to set a priority for their item . When completed, click Add , which will then direct the customer to Keep browsing on your site, share the item, share their list, share on social networking sites or View their list.
If the customer chooses View my list, they will be redirected to Wishpot.com. Within wishpot.com the customer will have many options available to them including but not limited to sharing their registry with others, sorting their lists, rate the item(s), delete and edit items, and purchasing the item(s). To learn more about wishpot.com, please visit their site here. Wishpot is the 3rd party registry system in which Volusion has integrated with for this new gift registry feature. Volusion is not responsible for the data the wishpot pulls from your store. The Gift Registry is separate from the Volusion Wish List function. To learn more about the wish list, please click here. Purchasing and Reserving Items within Wishpot.com How to make a purchase from your registry 1.When you view your registry on wishpot.com, you will see a green Buy It button to the right of the item you added . When clicked, this button will redirect you to the product page on the store in which the item was added from. From there, the purchase can take place. How your guests will make a purchase from your registry 1.When your guests view your registry on wishpot.com, they will see a green Buy It button to the right of the item you added . When clicked, a popup window will be displayed for your guest to reserve the item. 2.If your guest is not logged in to wishpot.com or does not have an account, they will be directed to create an account or login. 3.The guest can also use the Mark as reserved link to reserve the item . 4.Once reserved, the guest will be redirected to your registry list and a new popup will display to confirm their reservation . The reserve function is handy if the guest wishes to purchase the product for you at a later time however display to others viewing your list that the item will be purchased. This lessens the chance you will receive duplicate gifts. Each person purchasing a gift from your registry should mark the item they choose as reserved. If they change their mind, they will need to unreserve the gift from your list , opening others to purchase the item for you. Please Note: A reservation does not eliminate the option for another gift shopper to purchase the item, however when an item is reserved it is highlighted and displays the reserved status. •Your guest will receive an email confirmation for their reservation . This email will contain a link to buy the item which will take them directly to your registry list as well as an unreserve link. •Once someone reserves an item on your registry list, you will be able to view those items by clicking the Reserved Items tab in your Wishpot account . You will not however be able to see who reserved the gift. •Once the guest clicks on the Buy It button, they are sent to the product page on the store in which the item was added from. From there, the purchase can take place. •You can even receive contributions toward your items through wishpot.com! Notes Gift Registry •Any desired options should be written in the notes section on the registry when the customer adds an item. This can include color, size, flavors, etc. •The Wishpot Registry will not pickup affiliate information from your Volusion store. This means that if a customer reaches your site using an affiliates link and then uses the registry - the affiliate will not receive commission when the item is purchased. There is a work around however with the use of Google's Affiliate system. If you use Google Affiliate System, please refer to Wishpot's article here on how to integrate your account. •Currently the registry will not function with items using the Multi Child Add To Cart feature. •The integration with Wishpot is one way only. Wishpot does not communicate information back to Volusion. •The registry is an integration with a 3rd party software, not a built in functionality of Volusion. The functions within Wishpot are those of Wishpot alone and Volusion support will be unable to answer/troubleshoot issues within the Wishpot system.
